- Very good work.
- Thank you. I look forward to hearing about the next steps
- Agree
- I only joined last May/June. I was not aware of the legal status - in fact I am disappointed that I did not ask! I would fully support the move that you suggest.
- Great news carry on
- Again, crack on
- Again, an extremely clear presentation of the principles to be considered.
- I fully support the principles and proposed changes.
- This all sounds super sensible and the right thing to do. Thank you for all your hard work and mental power on this.
- No initial observations, but I would like to thank you for the work you are doing and for the clear first explanation of our present difficult position and potential ways forward.
- I had no idea about any of this and suggest you get on with putting things right without delay. Thank you very much, I don’t like being exposed to such risks.
- All sounds very reasonable and it’s encouraging. Good luck!
- it should be fairly easy to incorporate - good luck
- I think it’ is good that you are looking into this .Good luck and hope it becomes an easy process for everyone .
- I agree limited liability is a good idea for the future
- While not having any immediate thoughts, it is right that the club is looking into what is best for the club staff and members.
- "I fully support what the Club is trying to do. It moves us into the 21st Century.
- Also, I congratulate the Working Group on setting the scene so clearly."
- No questions from me. Just to say thank you for the information and option of feedback. This all makes sense to me and feels that becoming incorporated is the right step and will help the club move forwards.
- All sounds very reasonable to myself.
- Concentrate on converting the Club into a Company and then taking any steps necessary to support the excellent work being carried out to enhance Club usage .
- The proposal for incorporation seems eminently sensible for the protection of the general committee and ordinary members.
- "Thank you for injecting some 'normal company' thoughts ....here was I thinking for all these years that we were formally structured as a 'no profit' company run by a Management Group (Committee).
- Thanks for taking the time to find a way of clearly explaining the steps you are considering and seemingly involving all members in such an open way - much appreciated.
- Sounds great - very measured and appropriate way to proceed.
- Thanks for all the work that has gone on to set this up and explain why change is needed. I support the need to limit personal liability for those who volunteer their time and talents on our behalf without additional personal risk.
- It makes perfect sense for the Club to be incorporated, I was surprised to see that it isn’t already.
- Incorporation would provide protection to those who give of their time so generously and in particular The Management Committee facilitating its members with such a wonderful asset
- Incorporation makes sense - having to support that motion
- Undoubtedly, to my mind, the PYC should be incorporated and become a Limited Company limited by Guarantee. In these legislative times officials and members do not need any exposure within a social setting of a leisure club such as PYC.
- Great news the way forward
- Seems like a very sensible idea. Gets my support
- This is a very clear explanation of the difference between unincorporated and incorporated. It seems clear that the Club should move to incorporated.
- The days of members clubs relying 100% on goodwill are sadly long gone. In this hard nosed litigious world we need to be incorporated.
- Clearly explained, thank you. Although you are not asking for an opinion it seems to me that the Club should be legally incorporated for everyone’s protection.
- "The background has been explained with great clarity - Diolch/ Thank you
- The website looks good too ! all very friendly and informative :) "
- yes PYC must become incorporated.
- I think the yacht club should be incorporated
- Nothing at this stage
- While not having any immediate thoughts, it is right that the club is looking into what is best for the club staff and members.
- As an ex-committee member, my view is that it is essential for the club to become incorporated. Activities that take place are dangerous by nature. It makes no sense to be anything but incorporated.
- Thank you for this update, personally I believe it would make sence for the club to be Incorporated for the protection of all.
- The Club should most be certainly be set up as a Company
- "I am in favour of the change - it’s something I wished to address when I was Treasurer/Flag
- When asked to be a Club Trustee it was exactly this issue/danger that discouraged me from accepting
- In the modern world I don’t feel we have any other alternative "
- I fully agree with this. Being incorporated would make much more sense.
- Happy with all you are doing at the moment, thank you for all the time you are giving to this issue.
- I agree we should incorporate.
- "Thanks for all your efforts, fully support what you are aiming to achieve. If you need any help, happy to get more involved! "
- We would agree that the Club's focus should be on becoming incorporated.
- So far, it all (background and basic principles) seems sound
- I support incorporation
- I would agree it is necessary to become incorporated to protect all members and in particular the General committee who do such good work. Congratulations on this website its very clear.
- Excellent reporting with keeping the members informed.
- Only to say I’m very impressed by the detailed communication via the website and the thoroughness of the consultation process. Thank you!
- As a solicitor I agree a LLP is not the right vehicle and company limited by guarantee is best option . As you have already mentioned, early discussions with the Plymouth Estate are essential as they may be concerned about the limited liability aspect . Well done for all the research you have already carried out
- I agree that CLG is the preferred form of governance
- Good process. CLG makes sense
- I am very supportive of us having proper corporate governance and moving forward with an approach which accords with todays principles.
