The Governance Working Group
The General Committee has set up a Working Group to focus on the Club's governance.
All three members of the Working Group are doing this as volunteers, in their own time - no-one is paid.
What will the Group do?
The Group will draft proposals to discuss with Members, ask you for your feedback, consider that feedback and then prepare the final drafts to submit for Membership approval. Starting with Lucy, the technical lead, we will make ourselves available to chat informally in the Club bar from time to time. We will also organise more formal engagements - for example, small focus groups and bigger "everyone-is-invited" Q&A sessions.
You can see who is who below.
Dogs are lovely, but not actually compulsory!
Ben is a General Committee member, and currently the Club's Treasurer. The Club has been part of his life for many years, and he is keen to make it a thriving part of the Penarth community.
Lucy is a member of the Club, and although she refuses to sail or row, she is a keen year-round sea swimmer, and would like to start a Club swimming group. She also sings in the resident choir, Criw Canu.
Lucy is the technical lead for the Working Group. She is a Chartered Governance Professional, a qualified company secretary, and a Fellow of the Governance Institute. She specialises in the not-for-profit and charity sector.
